Yet his remarks come after weeks of reported Ethiopian government drone strikes across Tigray. International reporting has documented multiple strikes and the buildup of federal forces along the regional border, while the federal government has not publicly addressed every reported strike.
The contrast is notable: while reports of the earlier strikes received no comparable criticism from the ambassador, his latest statement echoes the federal government’s account that the TPLF initiated the current offensive.
