Fish oil can REK you β
- Between the 1950s and the 1970s, people were assured that eating polyunsaturated seed oils would protect them against heart disease
- Thankfully the past few years the rise against seed oils has started trending
- Yet for some reason the polyunsaturated oils in fish oil supplements are still seen as healthy and safe by many
βMuh fish, itβs natural!β
- Supplementing cod liver oil 1000mg is about as natural as The Liver King connecting with nature
- Despite itβs nutrition, fish oils are generally much more immunosuppressive than seed oils
- Some of the anti-inflammatory effects of fish oil result from the oxidized oils
- These oils are so unstable that they begin to spontaneously oxidize even before they reach the bloodstream
- Just like with seed oils, this is carcinogenic long term
The TLDR is that fish oil = PUFA (seed oils)
Personally I prefer white fish but Salmon once a week should be no problem.
Cook it in coconut oil or dairy butter to offset the PUFA
