The Collectathon Boom: Is Steam Going Hypercasual?

Librarian: Tidy Up the Arcane Library! dropped players into a library with 3,000+ books scattered around and one simple task: put them back on the shelves.

The concept not only sold 1.6M copies and generated $9.2M in revenue, but also gave rise to an entire microgenre.

Rubber ducks, wine bottles, supermarket products… Almost anything can now provide a mess for players to sort! Around 30 tidy-up games launched in August and September alone, with some already passing $1M in revenue.
