Forwarded from Strength Made Perfect

Hebrew larpers love three verses but ignore the rest of the New Testament. Let's believe the Bible like BAPTISTS instead of what judaizing children say online.

β€” Imagine someone so heretical and so ignorant of Christianity that they say God can't be pleased unless you keep Moses 🀯. Meanwhile the Bible says the opposite, and it says it plainly.

"Think not that I am come to destroy the law... I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil." (Matthew 5:17)

Fulfil is not the same as "keep forever." Fulfilling the law means finishing it. Christ was "made under the law" (Galatians 4:4), lived it perfectly, and paid its penalty. Look at the very next verse: "Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled" (Matthew 5:18). All was fulfilled at the cross. "It is finished" (John 19:30). The result: "Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth" (Romans 10:4). The end, not the starting line.

"Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law." (Romans 3:31)

Read the paragraph, not just the verse. Paul has just said "by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin" (Romans 3:20). That is what the law establishes: guilt, a closed mouth, and a world "guilty before God" (Romans 3:19). It points to the righteousness of God "being witnessed by the law and the prophets" (Romans 3:21), and that righteousness comes by faith in Christ. Look at 1 Timothy 1:8-9: the law is good if used lawfully, "knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient." Nobody in Romans 3 is being put back under Moses.

"If ye love me, keep my commandments." (John 14:15)

Whose commandments? Not Moses's! Jesus said "my commandments." "A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another" (John 13:34). "And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another" (1 John 3:23). Paul calls this "the law of Christ" (Galatians 6:2) and says he is "not without law to God, but under the law to Christ" (1 Corinthians 9:21). Christ's commandments are not the Mosaic Law β€” John 1:17: "For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ."

How to please the Lord?

"But without faith it is impossible to please him" (Hebrews 11:6). "So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God" (Romans 8:8). The believer pleases God by walking in the Spirit, and that is how "the righteousness of the law" gets "fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit" (Romans 8:4). Notice who does the fulfilling. It is not you with a calendar of feast days and pretending to be an Old Testament Jewβ€”how embarrassing.

Paul spoke to people who wanted both:

"As many as are of the works of the law are under the curse" (Galatians 3:10). "Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?" (Galatians 3:3). "Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace" (Galatians 5:4). And "if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law" (Galatians 5:18).

You do not get to be partly under Moses. "For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law" (Galatians 5:3). Pick up the sabbath or cut your hair a certain way and you owe the rest.

The Bible is crystal clear: "Ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ" (Romans 7:4). "For ye are not under the law, but under grace" (Romans 6:14). "But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster" (Galatians 3:25).

Separate from the world, yes. Under Moses, no. Be ye separate, and stay in Christ.
