Violent riots in France have spread to Belgium, while hundreds of French schools remain closed for another day.

Viral videos show youths of immigrant backgrounds rioting and setting fires. But there is another part of the story that needs attention: Antifa-aligned communist and far-left groups and unions are helping organize and amplify the direct actions.

Waldemar Krysiak was the first journalist I ever met who was like me. He was gay and reported on Trantifa, Antifa and the extreme far-left. Based between Poland and Berlin, he and I covered riots together, and he later helped me investigate the Zizian trans cult for my upcoming book. One of the cult’s victims was Polish.

There has never been a full reckoning for the evils committed in the name of radical leftist politics.

In my first reporting dispatch from Asia, I traveled to Cambodia to visit the death sites where the Khmer Rouge communist regime mass-incarcerated, tortured and executed those it deemed enemies of the socialist revolution. Its leader, Pol Pot, was radicalized while studying in Paris and was a member of the French Communist Party.

Under the “Year Zero” experiment, money and private property were abolished, cities emptied and millions forced into work collectives. By the time the regime fell, around a quarter of Cambodia’s population was dead.
