Freepik, a well-known online graphic design platform, has introduced a new "open" AI model for image generation. Which, according to the company, was trained exclusively on commercially licensed images suitable for use in a work environment.
The model, called F Lite, contains about 10 billion parameters, and was developed in collaboration with a startup. Fal.ai specializing in AI. According to information from Freepik, the model was trained on 64 NVIDIA H100 GPUs and took 2 months.
F Lite joins a small but growing collection of generative AI models trained exclusively on licensed data, which is especially relevant in modern conditions.
Freepik made available two versions of F Lite: standard and texture, both of which were trained on an internal dataset containing about 80 million images. The standard version, according to the company, is more predictable and follows user requests more accurately.
