OpenAI has suddenly made two models available to the public for the first time in six years. They are almost as good as GPT o3 and o4-mini.

Features:
— They can be run on a home computer or smartphone without any subscriptions;
— They outperform all available free models, even the most advanced Chinese ones;
— They can have long conversations without losing the thread;
— They support tools such as searching the internet, writing code, and more.
— Models automatically use tools to solve multi-step problems. They can both analyze someone else's code and create their own from scratch.

By the way, GPT-5, potentially the most powerful neural network in the world, could be unveiled on August 7. Unless, of course, something changes.
