In their pigment characteristics the mountain Ghegs are about half way between blond and brunet pigment extremes as delimited by European range,they run to light skins,dark head hair,and intermediate to light mustaches very much red,and a light mixed eye color.In pigmentation they are not very different from Highland Scots,Basques and the Kentucky mountaineers-but considerably darker than Norwegians.They are fairer than the Italians of the portions of Italy opposite them,fairer than the Tosks,Greeks,Bulgarians and Serbs,while probably little different from Montenegrins,Bosnians and Tyrolese.

The Gheg phenotype is thus represented by a moderately tall man,long limbed,strong boned,well muscled,spare and lean,with a thin bony face of moderate dimensions,a long,narrow,aquiline nose,a short,broad head often flattened behind,a well developed mustache and beard,both of which vary in color,a light skin,and mixed eyes.

Robert Klark Graham (1970) claimed, and that human intelligence had reached its peak with the Cro-Magnons.

We notice that the average IQ today is lower in regions that had an earlier entrance into the Neolithic and into complex civilization, suggesting that genotypic intelligence declined during or after the Neolithic, as maintained by Elmer Pendell (1977), and as demonstrated for modern Western civilization by Richard Lynn (1996) and confirmed recently by molecular evidence (Beauchamp, 2016; Conley et al., 2016).

Italian fascist magazine "La difeza della razza" (defense of the race) published from 1938 to 1943,who's purpose was to show anthropology studies and prove difference between races.
Here it mentions Albanians as descendants of Paleo Balkanic people (illyrians,thracians,hellenes etc) and mentions similarity between Italian and Albanian folk. One of the pages says:

Ironically the i2 in slavs might not even be native to them but admixed through them by eastern germanics or perhaps dacians. this doesnt mean yugos are those, bc white serbia/ croatia was absent of this. its also why sorbs have more ev13 than i2a1b and in general have very little i2a1b.

Ev13 is illyrian. We have a north illyrian sample of ev13, an upcoming one in slovakia, and ones of illyrian mercenaries from himara. it also came from anatolia, as its an anatolian farmer lineage, hence the name. not MENA. ev13 itself formed in the balkans too, it was its ancestor el618 which moved in the balkans in the neolithic to mesolithic (some studies like 2008 battelgia suggest, especially after later studies finding ev13 dated 7k bc in catalonia, which suggests they had enough time to move to that region in the neolithic bc they arrived to europe in the mesolithic)

Illyrians were never pure r1b. Illyrians are literally the mixture of the cetina culture (r1b and j2b l283, which you left out) and local farmers during the bronze age. the illyrian ethnogenesis formed after this mixture, meaning ev13 is not foreign. Once again i2 has nothing to do with this. That same study you quoted also considers albanians descendents of illyrians genetically, especially paternally, and linguistically. And a population explosion doesnt mean it was absent, it just bottlenecked, and that is assumed bc of the yamnayans coming in and ev13 being an elite haplo assimilating into them, and because of lack of samples.
