Think of ffmpeg wrappers. Because programmers and nerds in general are very poor in communication and don't understand what people want or need, they create hyperfunctional software that is technically good but loosely not understood by people and as a rule it has very poor UI/UX.
Somebody more normie-aligned arrives years later and has an eureka moment, takes the same software, makes a pretty candy wrapper, makes it have two buttons at best that "just work", hypes it up, earns millions while original devs stay poor.
