🤖 Figure F.02 Humanoids Jump Into Molten Steel, Terminator-Style

Figure turned the decommissioning of its F.02 robots into a show. While the company has moved on to its new F.03 generation, it needed a way to dispose of the older humanoids. Storing them was too expensive, while dismantling them risked exposing proprietary technology.

❓ Looking for ideas, Figure CEO Brett Adcock turned to X and got a response from Arnold Schwarzenegger. The Terminator star had a simple suggestion: "You should melt them."

Foundries in the U.S. and Mexico refused to take the robots because of their lithium-ion batteries. Only one foundry was willing: one in Imatra, Finland, which gave the team just 24 hours to pull it off.

⚙️ For the stunt, the F.02 units were trained to jump into a bucket of molten steel. The team says the intense heat and electromagnetic fields caused the cameras at the foundry to fail, but the robots' AI systems still managed to execute their final jump without a hitch.
