🇳🇬 Tinubu Sends Genocide and War Crimes Bills to House of Representatives

Nigerian President Bola Tinubu has transmitted two bills to the House of Representatives seeking to establish a legal framework for the prosecution of genocide, war crimes, crimes against humanity, and related offences in Nigeria. The proposed legislation was read on the floor of the lower chamber on 14 October.

The bills are intended to domesticate Nigeria’s international obligations on atrocity crimes and create procedures for investigation and prosecution under national law.
