🇧🇫🇲🇱🇳🇪 UN says displaced in Central Sahel nears 4 million

The United Nations said the number of internally displaced people across the Central Sahel has reached nearly 4 million, driven by ongoing insecurity and armed violence in Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger. The warning was issued as humanitarian needs continue to rise across the three countries.

The Central Sahel has faced years of conflict linked to jihadist attacks, intercommunal violence and military operations, forcing millions from their homes. The UN said the scale of displacement is putting growing pressure on host communities and aid operations.
