Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike is reported to be expanding a Rainbow Coalition of allies across party lines, triggering concern in some All Progressives Congress-controlled states ahead of future political contests. According to The Africa Report, the network includes former governors Ayodele Fayose, Bukola Saraki and Samuel Ortom, as well as figures linked to Rivers State politics including Kingsley Chinda and Martins Amaewhule.

The report says Wike’s growing influence beyond the Peoples Democratic Party is unsettling APC structures in several states. His political activity has drawn particular attention because of his central role in Rivers State power struggles and his broader national profile.
