🦑 The Call of Cthulhu

In his 1928 short story The Call of Cthulhu, H.P. Lovecraft used this alien looking creature's name to describe the head of the idol/sculpture representing the cosmic entity Cthulhu:

The crouching image with its cuttlefish head, dragon body, scaly wings, and hieroglyphed pedestal, was preserved in the Museum at Hyde Park...
