At the beginning of every piece, Bach would write "J.J.", short for Jesu Juva, meaning "Lord, I rely on You."
At the end, he would write "S.D.G.", short for Soli Deo Gloria, meaning "To God alone be the glory."
Orchestral/Classical music is not suited for parties, casual drives, or the lighthearted diversions of daily life. Bach is not for forgetting existence but for contemplating it.
