Hi everyone,

It is another announcement time, but about one-click hide tools (especially Specter). They forget to apply the owner permissions to the HMA-OSS config file (or whole folder), and the shell script applies root as owner. My module cannot be able to read, edit or delete the configuration in that condition. And the other issue is nobody checks the "Logs" screen, I show what is wrong there.

How to fix it? You can execute this command:
su -c chown system:system -R /data/misc/hide_my_applist\*

Also, some one-click hide tools create a hide_my_applist folder without a random suffix which causes another detection point.

You should avoid one-click hide tools, you can restore a pre-made config through the "Restore config" option any time. This is the best way to change a config, I apply some fixes to the configs while it is restored.

Thank you for everything :)

Hi everyone,

I published oss-173 recently but it is not working on QPR3 Beta 1. I fixed the issue in the test version and you should use it if you have QPR3 Beta 1.

Latest test release (edited x3): https://t.me/buggychat/124766
Also an experimental release if you want to help for rewrite issues:
(updated x6) https://t.me/buggychat/124053

I abandoned the Java rewrite due to performance and other issues, but the code is archived into https://github.com/frknkrc44/HMA-OSS/tree/java-rewrite

EDIT: It also works on October version of CANARY.

Thank you for everything πŸ˜‡ have a good day/night

Hi everyone,

I want to say hello after a long moment, it was a long time when I wrote here (I don't count poll I created). We have a final test version and it will be released as-is if everything is fine. I handled all of recent issues but I still need testers to make sure everything is okay.

EDIT x4: Chunqiu devs found another detection, I handled the previous ones but the current one -looks like- requires a kernel-side implementation. The mentioned beta version still works well for the older detections.

Latest test release: https://t.me/buggychat/115566

Thank you for everything :)

Hi everyone,

I uploaded the new version (oss-166) and all of future version updates will be visible in the root manager too (it will download the release version through GitHub)

You can use this code if you want to implement a similar update checker mechanism (you will need a hosting service, also you will need to edit the code for version calculations):
https://github.com/frknkrc44/HMA-OSS/tree/update-checker

Thank you for reading :) have a good day/night

Hi everyone,

I uploaded the translations before the next release. I hope this release will be long-lived and stable as rock.

And here is the changelog if you want to read:
- Add "Fix the issue" button for HMA/HMAL conflicts (sick mode)
- Add "stressed face" mode indicator to show the presets are still loading but the service is alive
- Add "reset config" option to begin from scratch
- Add "Ignored apps" to the "Show presets" screen to ignore apps when they are categorized incorrectly
- Fix the startActivity detection for Android 12
- Fix some issues that happened while reading the config
- Fix some app crashes

Thank you for everything and have a good day/night :)

Aerath's Free Time Funs Hi everyone, Today is one of big changes will happen. I am going to merge the Zygisk version right now, but I will also merge the translations and a new release will be available after that. And I am removing these languages, because nobody translated them…
I uploaded it into the private channel like the LSPosed version to avoid Telegram issues. You can download it from here (Channel) or here (GitHub).

NOTE: You can install it directly without removing the LSPosed version. All of your settings will be stored and no conflicts will happen with the old LSPosed-based HMA-OSS.

Hi everyone,

Today is one of big changes will happen. I am going to merge the Zygisk version right now, but I will also merge the translations and a new release will be available after that.

And I am removing these languages, because nobody translated them in another 10 days:
- Afrikaans
- Catalan (somebody wanted it but didn't translated - going to remove him from the translation project too)
- Danish
- Finnish
- Serbian (Cyrillic)
- Swedish
- Hungarian

I can remove these languages in next updates if not translated:
- Hebrew
- Norwegian
- Czech
- Dutch

Thank you for all types of contributions.

Hi everyone,

I want to remove the unmaintained languages which nobody wanted to translate for a long time, because most of them came from the Hide My Applist project and/or don't cover most of HMA-OSS specific features.

If you want to translate for one of listed languages, let me know. Otherwise I can remove them in a few days, because they only translated for 14 percent:
- Afrikaans
- Catalan
- Danish
- Finnish
- Serbian (Cyrillic)
- Swedish
- Hungarian
- Hebrew
- Norwegian

More than 14 percent but misses half of new features (I will not remove them but just mentioning):
- Czech
- Romanian
- Dutch
- Persian

EDIT - Somebody wanted to translate:
- Catalan

Hi everyone,

I uploaded the translation strings of the Zygisk version. I will wait for a few days to make sure everything is done before the big merge. You can translate now if you want to contribute the translations. Also I will wait for messages in both Crowdin and comments when you had no idea about translations of strings. I will still put some of them here:

- Append => Do not remove app/settings configs from the current configuration list when they didn't available in the restored config
- Sick mode is activated => This is basically a safe mode indicator that shows the module was disabled its hooks due to HMA/HMAL detected

EDIT: I also archived the old code here: https://github.com/frknkrc44/HMA-OSS/tree/lsposed

Thanks for your help :) and have a good day/night

Hi everyone, looks like this is another FAQ time, I hope it will help.

Q: X feature is not working after applying Y template
A: This is not an issue entirely caused by me, you should consider to fix your config instead. I even gave you an option to apply whitelists on blacklist mode per-app. If you are using a pre-made config then you can ask to the config owner instead of me.

Q: AnyCheck shows you didn't fixed the timing detection
A: Not my issue, their detection in the release version works wrongly (you can read how to detect it correctly).

Q: Will you consider to continue the LSPosed version?
A: No, but I can share a dummy update for IzzyOnDroid removal before merging the Zygisk release; this will not be an actual version update.

Q: My module isn't showing as activated even while I activated it and rebooted my device
A: If you are a KernelSU user, you should check for the version codes like mentioned here. I added some checks for version codes in the Zygisk module (and warn users/abort the installation) but the LSPosed module users will need to check it manually. You can contact me from the group with logs if you checked them and you had no progress.

Q: Why my Zygisk module shows "Sick mode"?
A: This is caused by a crash protection. You can uninstall "Hide My Applist" and/or "Hide My AppList" modules then reboot your phone to fix it.

Q: How I will switch from LSPosed version to Zygisk version?
A: Just install the Zygisk module, you don't need to do anything else.

If you need an answer for another question, you can ask it in comments.

Thanks for reading!

Aerath's Free Time Funs Should I abandon the LSPosed version and merge the Zygisk version into the main branch?
I think the community selected the path of HMA-OSS's development, so I stopped poll early (I kept it open for more than 10 hours) instead of waiting to the end. I will begin to adapt the Zygisk code for merge and backup the current LSPosed code into another branch/repository in a few days. Thanks for your vote and have a good day/night πŸ˜‡

Hi everyone,

The community members wanted to add checks for both KernelSU manager/driver version and Zygisk's existence to the new version. I hope it will cause fewer bug reports by mismatching ksud and the kernel driver.

You can find the updated download link in this post.

Thank you for continuous support.

Hi everyone,

This announce is just for KernelSU (or fork - KSUN, WKSU, SukiSU, ReSukiSU, ...) users.

I saw many reports and people mostly skips checking the root manager and kernel driver versions before reporting a bug. It can be an issue because KernelSU can fail to apply SELinux rules when users skip this step and all of modules depending to these rules can fail to work too (including HMA-OSS and LSPosed).

How to fix? You have 2 choices:
- Upgrade/downgrade the kernel driver
- Upgrade/downgrade the manager app

But both have to be same/similar version codes. I don't talk about "v3.x.y" (version name), but "330xx" (version code).

I just note that because I'm just tired from reading the same log for the same issue and it is not even my module's bug. I'll not accept any bug reports when users skipped this step from now on.

Anyways, thanks for reading and understanding what can go wrong when users forgot something. Have a good day/night πŸ˜‡

Hi everyone,

I'm backporting all of Zygisk module changes to the LSPosed module and I will continue to develop both. It will be your choice to use the LSPosed-based one or Zygisk-based one. I uploaded the translation strings for the LSPosed module changes.

pros/cons of LSPosed-based module:
+ Less/no conflicts
+ You can get logs through the LSPosed manager
- Less performance

pros/cons of Zygisk-based module:
+ Best performance
+ Best hiding for exceptions
+ You can uninstall the app when you don't need
- Has conflicts with LSPosed modules (eg. InxLocker)
- You need MDA to get logs (KernelSU logs are also useful)

Thanks for everything :) have a good day/night

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to answer a few FAQ and I hope I'll see less issues after that.

Q: How to get logs for HMA-OSS's Zygisk version?
A: You can use MDA(@zygote32) but send logs through DM(@KaldirimMuhendisi) since they can contain sensitive information

Q: I get EACCES issue in mprotect function and it says "shouldNotHappen" in the log
A: Make sure your root manager app and kernel driver versions are similar/same

Q: I get stackoverflowerror/random crash while using the Zygisk module of HMA-OSS
A: Make sure you didn't enabled HMA-OSS's LSPosed module while HMA-OSS's Zygisk module is installed, send me log if it happens while you followed this step

Q: X module's functionality isn't working while using Zygisk module of HMA-OSS
A: You can disable the conflicting hook over HMA-OSS's settings > Disable functions (but it will cut some of module's functionality)

Q: When the Zygisk module will be ready?
A: I'm waiting for testers, so it will need more time

Q: Will you abandon the LSPosed module?
A: It is in the plan, but some of users concerning about conflicts, so I don't know yet

Q: Why do you want to write another backend for your module?
A: It is too simple to explain: LSPosed kills the performance and it is a heavy framework for this type of module (and confirmed by testers too), also I can't handle some of leaks easily due to its nature

You can still ask whatever question about HMA-OSS under this post, and I'll write answers for them.

Hi everyone,

I finally addressed the work profile/private space issue with community's help. You'll able to manage work profile/private space app targets over HMA-OSS in oss-158. It is compiling right now, but wanted to share it before it is compiled.

Thank you community πŸ˜‡

Aerath's Free Time Funs Hi everyone, It looks like Telegram banning channels with APK files and I think about moving all APK files into another channel (or remove all APK files and just share their links in releases), what do you think about this change? I only want to keep this…
Hi everyone,

I sent the update right now. I hope you'll see the update notification in the current application. I don't list Telegram as an update option anymore, but you can still download it from the private channel or GitHub releases.
