Hi everyone!

We’re back after a long break, and we have a lot to share!

This time, we’d like to share some recommendation letter tips with you.

Remember that recommendation letters are an important part of your application, so don’t put all the responsibility solely on your teacher.

And if you don’t know how to get started or how to help your teacher write a strong recommendation letter — we’ve got your back.

We’ve prepared a document that you can send directly to your teacher to make the whole process much easier for them.

Want to get the document?
React to this post, make sure you’re subscribed to our channel, and comment “+” below!

The document includes:
• a step-by-step guide covering all the important aspects of recommendation letters;
• organizational details, including how and where to submit them and how to keep track of deadlines;
• examples of recommendation letters from top universities.

The document is written directly for teachers and walks them through the entire process — even if they have little or no experience writing recommendation letters.

Hi there!

We’re officially working with our AYFC mentees on building their applications, and for those applying this autumn, essay season is just getting started.

If you’re submitting your applications this year, now is the perfect time to start writing your essays. That way, you can refine them over the next few months instead of rushing right before the deadlines.

That’s why we decided to show you the difference between a human-written essay and an AI-generated essay, using the personal statement of a student who got into Yale as an example!

We encourage you not to rely on AI throughout your application process. We’re going to share more essay tips and life hacks soon, so you’d better stay with us.

*A personal statement is the main essay required by most universities in the US.

This year, we received over 20 submissions, which is a major milestone for us. We truly appreciate everyone’s interest and look forward to connecting with the selected candidates!

We especially encourage students interested in Biology, Medicine, Biotechnology, and research to apply to the Harvard Undergraduate Microbiology Society (HUMS) Junior Fellows Program! It’s an excellent opportunity to explore research pathways and become part of a community of students passionate about science.
