Zug um Zug Demokratie

Hello everyone! This year we will continue to challenge stereotypes and black-and-white thinking through political education.

This will be the focus of our new project “Vielfalt der Stimmen - gut informiert im Wahljahr 2025”, which we launched together with the Bundeszentrale für politische Bildung. Main events of the project will be in Russian, but some activities will be also in English or German.

Subscribe to the project channel to follow the news and announcements of future events!

On October 12-13, we hosted a successful two-day Art & Science Weekend, attracting over 100 participants committed to countering black-and-white thinking through science and art.

How it was

The first day of the weekend featured "Real or Fake," an interactive game designed to sharpen critical thinking skills. Scientists presented various "scientific facts," challenging the audience to determine their authenticity. Participants learned new information about the biological characteristics of mice and birds (particularly ducks), discussed whether neutrinos could travel faster than light, and explored the reasons behind different airplane colors. This engaging session not only educated but also emphasized the importance of questioning and verifying information in our daily lives.

The second day featured two workshops titled "Impro 4 Life" on theatrical improvisation, where participants learned to collaborate effectively, enhance creativity, and tackle modern challenges.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in combating stereotypes through innovative approaches. We invite all to continue expanding their horizons and bridging divides through creativity and science!

IMPRO 4 LIFE on Art & Science Weekend

We have to live into the unknown, the uncertain and even the uncanny. The best way to deal with these circumstances is to become a better improviser. Especially applied, theatrical improvisers highly cooperate, so-create meaning and develop their imagination.

In this 2-hours workshop you learn how to make each other shine, how to say YES, AND! You will learn how to deal with the absurdities and challenges of our times and our lives!

Details

This weekend, we held a mini-camp as part of our Zug um Zug Demokratie project.

Throughout the day, 14 people working in the fields of equality, the promotion of democratic values, and engagement with migrant communities got to know each other, exchanged ideas about ongoing projects, identified common concerns, and discussed new initiatives.

We hope that this small-group format allowed our participants to connect more closely and will serve as a catalyst for new collaborative activities.

We’ll strive to host another meeting next year!
