⚡️German technology company Robert Bosch has agreed to pay the United States a $36 million fine as part of a settlement agreement over claims that two of its subsidiaries, not registered in the US, supplied sensor products and mobile phone software to the Chinese company Huawei.

The US Department of Justice declined to prosecute the case because the company self-reported the misconduct and actively cooperated with the investigation.

Prior to this, in 2023, the Bureau of Industry and Security imposed a $300 million administrative fine on Seagate Technology for supplying hard drives to Huawei without obtaining the necessary permits.

Do you realize the scale of this insanity? A German (!) company sells its products to a Chinese (!) company. And then a pig wearing a star-spangled banner shows up demanding a fine! And they pay it instead of telling the US to go to hell! These companies aren't even registered in the US!
