The middle east is far from ethnically or religiously homogenous, that's also kind of why wars there tend to be so chaotic.
-You've got the Arabs of each Arab nation, which often don't get along super well with each other
-Druze
-Yazidis
-Alawites
-Turks of Turkey
-Kurds divided between Turkey, Syria, Iraq, and Iran
-Armenians scattered all over the place
-A bunch of other predominantly Christian ethnic groups that are ethnically and culturally distinct
-Iraqi Turkmen that are different than Turkish Turks
-Azeris which for some reason there's more of in Iran than in Azerbaijan
-Persians
-Multiple other groups within Iran like Balochis and Lurs that speak different languages and are culturally distinct
This is mainly referring to the non-Gulf countries in the Middle East too, in a lot of the Gulf nations actual citizens are a minority and the majority are noncitizen foreign workers who if chaos breaks out in the region that could lead to tons of problems as well. What does this mean for us? A major region-wide conflict could easily lead to civil wars that are tribal in nature, and another migrant crisis, and you won't even know which camel squiggle language they're even speaking when they get here. A total quagmire scenario and ZOGnald's actions could kick it off as he gets more desperate for a victory of some kind.
