Космическая автономность
Astroforge (YC W22)
Next year, we're going to launch a spacecraft that will be given zero commands from Earth after it separates from the launch vehicle.
The spacecraft will attempt to complete all of its mission objectives with no human operator in the loop.
Today we’re introducing Autonomy-1, powered by our spacecraft intelligence model, Solo. 🧵
Our spacecraft are already highly autonomous. Over the past four years, we've developed robust GNC algorithms and flight software to ensure a very high degree of autonomy for asteroid mining.
But that isn't enough. In the end, the mission itself is still largely coordinated from Earth: telemetry comes down, humans make decisions, commands go back up.
That doesn’t scale if you want to operate fleets throughout the Solar System.
That's why we built Solo.
Solo combines learned intelligence with our deterministic, physics-based flight algorithms. It coordinates those systems, understands the spacecraft’s state over time and determines what happens next. Our next mission, DeepSpace-2, will fly Solo in shadow mode.
Autonomy-1 will take the next step. Flying on Stoke's Nova Pathfinder, Autonomy-1 will attempt to complete every mission objective without a command from Earth, while carrying a real NASA Goddard heliophysics payload.
The future of deep space is autonomous.
