[урок в 2 форматах: miro + pdf]
Most people say they love to travel—but what I’ve learned is that they really mean they love vacations. In the general meaning of the term, these two words are often used interchangeably. When you’re requesting PTO at work, you tell your co-workers you’re going on “vacation”. If you asked me five years ago, I would have agreed that these two terms mean essentially the same thing. Yet, after a year spent traveling around the world, I now see these two words with two completely different meanings.
• warm-up — i need a vacation vs. i need to travel: в чем разница?
• lead-in — 2 описания: which one sounds more like you right now?
• vocabulary introduction — matching & vocabulary understanding point (what chunks relate to these situations?)
• vocabulary work — заполняем пробелы целевой лексикой
• the travel personality quiz — работа в 3 этапа: 1) отвечаем на вопросы самостоятельно, 2) меняемся ответами с партнером, пишем несколько предположений о партнере с целевой лексикой, 3) партнер комментирует (в индив. уроках работаем со студентом самостоятельно)
• the wrong trip — обсуждаем 4 кейса: a person took the wrong type of trip for their personality. what went wrong?
• the future trip pitch — role-play, задаем вопросы и рекомендуем one perfect destination
• reflection — вопросы по теме, уроку и лексике
