#teen_talks
We recently initiated our inaugural Teen-Talk: a one-hour Zoom discussion group tailored for 13-17-year-old teenagers eager to hone their entrepreneurial skills.
Of the 11 applicants, 7 attended the session. Initially, I had no specific expectations, but the caliber of the participants was astonishingly high. Two attendees are already pioneering their own startups in the realms of cryptocurrency and AI, while another two are gearing up for university. One showcases talent in beatboxing, and the two youngest participants impressively matched the level of their older counterparts.
The session's theme, web3, was challenging. Nonetheless, one participant, already seasoned in NEAR with grants under their belt, expressed a desire to present a pitch deck to the speaker.
Reflecting on the teenagers versus university students, I've noticed that the teens:
Exhibit a sharper focus than their university counterparts,
- Radiate significantly more energy,
- Operate at a lower burn rate,
- Are less constrained by their past experiences,
- Display a remarkable willingness to experiment and a heightened sense of curiosity.
Considering this, we're contemplating the launch of a VC dedicated to investing in startups founded by teenagers, post-reaching a milestone of over 100 participants at SV.camp. Backing even a single visionary akin to Elon Musk would immensely satisfy our LPs.
Our proposition to parents is compelling. Within a year, their teenager will gain:
- Networking opportunities with 48 top-tier experts and entrepreneurs,
- Connections with over 100 young entrepreneurs and innovators,
- In-depth knowledge on 48 cutting-edge innovation topics.
This unique amalgamation of resources is designed to bolster their chances of securing university scholarships, kickstarting their ventures alongside like-minded peers, and forging a robust professional network.
