🇬🇧🇺🇲 Boxer as an Air Defense Vehicle

At the recent DVD 2026 exhibition (September 16–17, 2026), the US company Moog unveiled the Reconfigurable Integrated-weapons Platform (RIwP) air defense module for the Boxer platform.

The RIwP features a 30mm cannon (XM914), a 7.62mm machine gun (M240), a four-round Stinger missile launcher, 16 laser-guided 70mm rockets, and an electro-optical sensor suite.

The UK is currently retiring its Stormer systems without purchasing a replacement, leaving it without a significant short-range air defense capability. Consequently, this combat module is being considered for potential acquisition.
