today I didn’t perform a feat
a conquered city didn’t bow to me
I didn’t take a mandolin
and didn’t play a hymn
I didn’t take my armor off
my sword wasn’t covered in blood
a princess didn’t kiss my hand

I took a shower instead
my t-shirt hugged me afterwards
and it just felt so warm
