Tripura’s Fatikroy saw violence on Saturday morning as residents of Saidarpara–Shimultala and Kumarghat alleged that Muslim-owned homes, shops, and a mosque were set on fire.

• Locals claim the attacks happened after Hindutva groups harassed Muslims while collecting donations for an upcoming Hindu religious gathering.

• An eyewitness said people lost everything and are struggling to cope, adding that police were present but did not intervene.

• A victim, Ali, said he was beaten with weapons after failing to give money immediately and was later hospitalised.

• He alleged that after he was taken to the hospital, his house, tractor, and farming equipment were set on fire while police stood by.

• Residents questioned whether they were being targeted for being Muslims and denied protection or justice.

— We honor the birth anniversary of Sqn Ldr Mir Abdul Rashid, SJ, a pioneering reconnaissance pilot and combat aviator whose courage strengthened the Pakistan Air Force during its toughest hours. In the 1965 War, serving with No 24 Squadron, he flew high-risk electronic intelligence and photo-reconnaissance missions in unarmed RB-57s at 45,000 ft, under constant threat from enemy radars and fighters. On a post-war deep-penetration mission over Indian bases including Leh, Agra, Hindon, and Ambala, his aircraft was hit by SA-2 missiles and severely damaged.

• Displaying extraordinary skill and coolness, he returned to Pakistan and made a masterful emergency landing, saving crew and aircraft. Awarded Sitara-e-Jurat, his legacy of heroism and professional excellence continues to inspire generations.

🇵🇰/🇮🇳: This is the captured jeep of Indian Major General Niranjan Prashad (15 Infantry Division). After his convoy was bombed by the Pakistan Air Force near the Lahore sector, he fled to Amritsar. The jeep is now displayed at the Lahore Museum.
