🇵🇰 No. 3 AEW&C Squadron “ANGELS”
— On 29 December 2009, the Pakistan Air Force marked a decisive leap in air defence capability with the raising of No. 3 AEW&C Squadron “Angels” at PAF Base Minhas, alongside the induction of the SAAB-2000 AEW&C aircraft. This milestone formally integrated Airborne Early Warning & Control into PAF’s frontline order of battle. Equipped with the Erieye Active Phased Array radar, Thales IFF, an integrated C2 suite, and EW support systems, the platform provides persistent surveillance, battle management, and robust self-protection. Operating this advanced capability, the Angels generate and sustain the Recognised Air Picture, exercise command and control over air operations, and coordinate friendly assets in both offensive and defensive missions fully integrated with the Air Defence Ground Environment. Today, No. 3 AEW&C Squadron stands as a critical force multiplier, embodying vigilance, precision, and strategic foresight in the defence of Pakistan’s skies.
