Statement: Hizb-ul-Mujahideen

Shaheed Shams-ul-Haq was a teacher and an intellectual who sacrificed his life in the path of truth. The life of Shaheed Ghulam Muhammad Mir, popularly known as Shams-ul-Haq, is full of sacrifices and stands as a beacon of guidance for coming generations. The separation of Pir Hafiz Zulfiqar Ahmed Naqshbandi is deeply painful.

These views were expressed by Ameer Hizb-ul-Mujahideen and Chairman of the United Jihad Council, Syed Salahuddin Ahmed, while addressing a special meeting of the Hizb command. He stated that although 32 years have passed since Shaheed Shams-ul-Haq left us, every moment of his life remains vivid before us.

Shaheed Shams-ul-Haq, along with his two companions Abdul Qayyum and Muhammad Yunus, was martyred in a battle with the enemy at Khag Berowa on December 16, 1993. The martyr played a key role in strengthening, organizing, and consolidating the ranks of the Mujahideen during his jihadi life. His steadfastness and independence never wavered.

Syed Salahuddin Ahmed further stated that the immortal and unparalleled sacrifices of the martyrs will always be remembered, and their sacred mission will be taken to completion at all costs.

In his address, Syed Salahuddin Ahmed also expressed deep sorrow and grief over the demise of the renowned spiritual leader, religious scholar, and preacher of Islam, Maulana Pir Hafiz Zulfiqar Ahmed Naqshbandi, and paid glowing tribute to him. He said that the passing of the deceased has created a great void which, although not impossible, is certainly difficult to fill. The deceased was a spiritual guide, a great religious scholar, and a preacher of Islam who remained committed to the upliftment of Islam until his last breath. Pir Hafiz Zulfiqar Ahmed Naqshbandi will return to his true Creator tomorrow.

At the conclusion of the meeting, special prayers were offered for the exalted ranks of all martyrs of the Jammu and Kashmir freedom movement and for Pir Hafiz Zulfiqar Ahmed Naqshbandi.
