🇵🇰 04 DECEMBER — THE DAY PAF DEFIED IMPOSSIBLE ODDS
🔷On this day in 1971, PAF wrote one of its brightest chapters. Facing a numerically superior enemy on both fronts, Pakistani pilots fought with unmatched courage.
🔷In East Pakistan, the lone No.14 Squadron held the sky from dawn to sunset. Wg Cdr S.M. Ahmed (Shaheed), Flt Lt Saeed Afzal (Shaheed), Sqn Ldr Javaid Afzaal, and the fearless duo Flg Off Shams-ul-Haq & Syed Shamshad fought waves of Hunters, MiG-21s & Su-7s—often one Sabre against four or more. Their dogfights saved Dacca airfield. Shams’ escape from four MiG-21s at treetop height remains legendary.
🔷Across West Pakistan, heroism matched the East. At Mianwali, Flt Lt Qazi Javed Ahmed scrambled under direct strafing, took off through bullets and shot down a Hunter. At Risalewala, Flt Lt Javed Latif launched despite a rocket hit and downed a Su-7.
🔷Despite heavy attacks, PAF struck back, para-drops over Avantipur and strikes on Sirsa, Faridkot & Amritsar radars.
