⚡🇵🇰/🇧🇩 — Pakistan’s HIT Chairman Lt Gen Shakir Ullah Khattak met the Bangladesh Army Chief on 23rd November in Dhaka as both sides push forward on major tank upgrade talks.
🔹The discussions covered the proposed modernisation of Type 59 and Type 69IIG MBTs, including 105/125mm guns, armour upgrades and modern FCS, with all work to be done inside Bangladesh, supported by Pakistan Army/HIT technicians based in-country throughout the project, similar to previous Chinese programmes.
🔹The meeting follows the Army’s July visit to HIT and comes soon after Bangladesh’s acquisition of the VT-4A1 MBT. With Pakistan also operating VT-4s, both armies now share a common next-generation platform, paving the way for deeper cooperation in training, sustainment and future joint initiatives.
