According to the latest X (Twitter) features that show where users are based on their profiles, the official media outlets of Taliban-affiliated jihadist groups active in Pakistan are all operating from outside the country.

—The official media of TLIP and HGB-affiliated IMP, Sada-e-Haq, is based in Afghanistan.

—All official media accounts of TTP-affiliated shadow groups, including Ansar-ul-Jihad and Ansar-ul-Shariah, are based in Afghanistan.

—The official outlet HIIP and its spokesperson are both based in Germany, which is consistent with the group’s affiliation with Al-Qaeda.

—The official media of Jammat-ul-Ahrar is based in Afghanistan.

This accounts for the decline in these groups’ media activity during the temporary internet suspension in Afghanistan.
