18 January 1974:
By a decree of the Central Committee of the CPSU and the Council of Ministers of the USSR, the 9P148 combat vehicle of the “Konkurs” anti-tank guided missile system, developed on the BRDM-2 chassis, was officially adopted into service.

The vehicle is (and has been) used by both sides in the war in Ukraine and remains in service with a number of countries.
