• The later design of the T-72M2 Moderna would drop the pair of 20mm autocannons for a single 30mm autocannon.

• The armament would consist of the 125mm 2A46MS gun and a pair of 20mm Oerlikon autocannons.

• The tank was powered by a 850hp S12U diesel engine and had a top speed of 60km/h.
