Vice President JD Vance is joining the growing movement of Americans raising their own food.

The Vance family installed a backyard chicken coop at the Naval Observatory, where their children help care for the chickens and collect fresh eggs.

Around 11 MILLION U.S. households kept chickens in 2025, nearly double the number in 2018.

More American families are taking a hands on approach to knowing where their food comes from.
