⚠️ There is a growing frustration among Gen Z and Millennials—and increasingly, that frustration is being aimed directly at the Baby Boomer generation.

The accusation is simple: Boomers benefited from affordable homes, lower college costs, stronger purchasing power, and an economy where one income could often support a family—then younger generations inherited record housing costs, crushing debt, inflation, stagnant purchasing power, and a system that feels increasingly impossible to navigate.

But here’s the danger: turning an economic crisis into a generational war solves nothing.

Yes, younger Americans are facing economic pressures that are very real. Homeownership feels out of reach for millions.

Rent is consuming larger portions of household income. Food, insurance, healthcare, vehicles, and basic necessities continue to strain families.

But blaming an entire generation misses the bigger picture. The real issue is decades of decisions involving government spending, monetary policy, debt expansion, globalization, housing shortages, corporate consolidation, financial speculation, and cultural shifts that accumulated over time.

Not every Boomer became wealthy. Not every Millennial is struggling. And not every problem facing Gen Z was created by the generation before them.

We are living in a time when almost every frustration is being redirected into another form of division—race against race, class against class, political party against political party, and now generation against generation.

Yes, The economic pain is real, The frustration is real. But if we spend all our energy blaming one another, we may completely miss the deeper forces reshaping the economic system right in front of us.

Perhaps the question isn’t, “Which generation destroyed the economy?”

Perhaps the better question is: What kind of economic system is coming next—and are we paying attention?
