I loved how easy everything felt when we were happy. We laughed at the smallest things, made plans without overthinking them, and somehow every day felt a little brighter because you were in it. But I started noticing that our relationship only felt good when everything was going well. The moment life became difficult, it felt like I had to face it on my own.
Whenever I needed reassurance or support, you were never really there. You would disappear into your own world, hoping I'd figure things out by myself. I didn't need you to fix every problem. I just wanted to know that we were facing them together. Instead, I found myself comforting you, comforting myself, and trying to hold the relationship together at the same time.
We broke up because I realized I was only your partner during the easy days. Love isn't measured by how people treat each other when everything is perfect. It's measured by who stays, who listens, and who chooses to stand beside you when life becomes difficult. I couldn't keep calling it a partnership when I was always facing the hardest moments alone.
