One of the biggest differences between a beginner who gets stuck and one who keeps improving is how they approach problems.
You don't need to know everything. You need to know how to figure things out. ๐
1๏ธโฃ Learn to Think Before You Code
When you receive a task, don't immediately open your editor. First write down:
What is the problem? โ What should the application do? โ What inputs are required? โ What should the output be? โ What steps are needed?
A few minutes of planning can save you hours of debugging.
2๏ธโฃ Break Large Features Into Small Tasks
Don't think: "I need to build an e-commerce website."
Break it down:
E-Commerce โ Product Listing, Product Details, Search, Cart, Authentication, Checkout, Payments, Orders. Then build one feature at a time.
3๏ธโฃ Understand Before Using a Library
Before using it, ask: What problem does it solve? Do I actually need it? Could I implement this myself? What are its limitations? This prevents your projects from becoming dependent on libraries you don't understand.
4๏ธโฃ Learn the Difference Between Client and Server
CLIENT โ What the user interacts with
SERVER โ Business logic + APIs
DATABASE โ Stores information
Flow: User clicks "Login" โ Frontend sends credentials โ Backend verifies them โ Database is checked โ Backend sends response โ Frontend updates UI.
5๏ธโฃ Learn Async JavaScript Properly
Focus on:
fetch(), Promises, async, await, try, catchasync function getUsers() {
try {
const response = await fetch("/api/users");
const users = await response.json();
console.log(users);
} catch (error) {
console.error(error);
}
}
