How a duck became the unofficial emblem of TON — and why it now lives in webdom

🥳 The story of the duck in TON began with a simple joke. They say that when one of the designers from VKontakte moved to Telegram, he decided to add a duck to the interface simply because he loved them so much. At the time, no one thought that in a couple of years it would become the cultural code of an entire ecosystem.

📓 It all started back in 2022: ducks began to appear everywhere in TON — in the ton.org wallet, NFTs, channels, and stickers with Tony McDuck, which still live in WEB3 today. The meme symbol fit perfectly into the ecosystem: it symbolized spontaneity, self-irony, and the ability to stay afloat even when there was a storm around.

😘 At webdom, we were inspired by this «duck story» and made our own. Our mascots (we hope you still remember them) — a white and black duck — appeared at the very beginning of the project. They were a kind of yin-yang of WEB3, symbolizing balance: order and chaos, structure and creativity, systematicity and the spirit of experimentation. Over time, the webdom logo appeared — now the duck lives not only in chats, but also in the brand.

🪙 Thus, the circle is complete: from a designer Easter egg in Telegram to the TON symbol, from TON to webdom, and back again to the general history of decentralization, where every symbol has meaning.

It felt like being in a Hogwarts class where everyone gets the magic — except me. But over time, I realized: this isn’t magic, it’s the new reality of the internet. Behind simple domains and usernames lie massive opportunities — and honestly? It’s a little frustrating that I didn’t know about it sooner.

❤️ My mission is simple: turn the complicated into something clear, and dry facts into visuals that hook and explain without words. Covers, posts, TMA design, and marketplace visuals — it’s not just about looking «pretty». It’s a way to connect with people who need to feel that Web 3.0 isn’t boring theory, but a living space for ideas, people, and income.

For me, it’s more than design. We’re building the internet of the future, where everyone has a name, a space, and freedom. And while others handle the technology and domains, I make sure Web 3.0 has a face — recognizable, vibrant, and engaging.
