Binance-Owned CoinMarketCap Acquires Crypto Derivatives Data Platform CoinGlass

CoinMarketCap has completed its acquisition of crypto derivatives data platform CoinGlass for an undisclosed amount. CoinMarketCap said it will integrate CoinGlass data including open interest, funding rates, liquidations and options into its broader market-data offering. CoinGlass covers 28 exchanges and more than 2,500 instruments, has over 5 million monthly users and more than 10,000 API clients, while CoinMarketCap says it serves about 115 million monthly users. CoinGlass will continue operating independently under its existing brand, with its website, app, free tools, APIs and pricing unchanged for now.

CoinMarketCap itself was acquired by Binance in 2020. The purchase price was not officially disclosed, though The Block reported at the time that the deal could be worth as much as $400 million. Subsequent reporting said the transaction was structured primarily in equity and BNB. — link
