Catalyst Opens Early Access for Its Outcome Markets

Catalyst, a "markets for moments" platform, is letting its first 1,000 waitlisted users in over the next 24 hours. The idea flips how prediction markets usually work: instead of picking from a list of pre-made events, you describe the outcome you want to trade, and the app spins up a market for it.

The waitlist itself is gamified: your spot moves up as you post on X, refer others and pre-deposit funds. In the team's demo, a $180 pre-deposit jumped a user from rank #1,551 to #441. A fifth step is still hidden, and the team says it "could shake things up".

Account launched in July, site is still gated, and there are no public details on fees, liquidity or a token. But user-created markets are the one corner of prediction markets that Polymarket and Kalshi don't serve, so it's worth watching once the doors open.
