The JPC, chaired by BJP MP Sanjay Jaiswal, was scheduled to hold sittings on 12th and 13th October 2026 to review the FCRA Bill.

10 opposition members of the JPC written a formal letter to the committee chairman requesting a postponement of the October 12 meeting by at least four weeks.
