The Supreme Court has intervened, ordering authorities to ensure there is no complete closure of the Delhi Metro.

Following strict security directives issued by the Delhi Police ahead of a massive opposition protest scheduled at Jantar Mantar on October 10, sweeping public transit shutdowns were set in motion.

The top court criticized these curbs, stating that an entire city cannot be locked down, and directed that services should instead operate in a regulated manner to minimize commuter hardship.
