🇮🇳 President Droupadi Murmu has given her formal presidential assent to the Gujarat Uniform Civil Code (UCC) Bill, 2026.

Officially granted on September 17, 2026, this landmark constitutional approval makes Gujarat the second state in India to adopt a Uniform Civil Code, following Uttarakhand.

Following the presidential assent, the Gujarat government published the legislative measures in its official gazette, bringing the Gujarat Uniform Civil Code, 2026 (Gujarat Act No. 15 of 2026) into force effective from October 1, 2026.
