🇮🇳 India’s RITES explores Railway Modernisation Partnership with Uruguay is exploring a partnership with India’s RITES Limited to help revive and modernize its roughly 500-km railway network.

🇺🇾 Uruguayan Ambassador Alberto Antonio Guani Amarilla said Uruguay is seeking a “country model” from RITES, with the network’s modernization linked to improving logistics and connecting industrial areas with ports.

➡️RITES and Indian Railways are also developing a standard-gauge (1,435 mm) version of Vande Bharat, potentially opening the door for Indian trainsets to serve international markets in Latin America, Africa and other standard-gauge regions.
