Britain launched a “world wide lobbying exercise” to overturn a landmark United Nations (UN) resolution which recognised Zionism as racism.

The information is in a private exchange between John Major’s foreign secretary Douglas Hurd and pro-Israel lobbyist Sir Trevor Chinn in 1992.

Sir Trevor Chinn is a prominent British businessman and Labour Party donor known for his strong pro-Israel activism and significant financial influence within the party. He donated £50,000 to Keir Starmer’s 2020 leadership campaign, which was not disclosed until after Starmer won, and served as a director of the Labour Together think-tank from 2016 to 2024.
