🇹🇷 Turkey tests Gökalp anti-drone system with interceptor drones.
On October 10, Turkish defense company ASELSAN demonstrated the system, which detects and destroys UAVs by directly colliding with them using Gökalp E1 interceptor drones.
The system uses the AURA radar, electro-optical sensors, and DRONEDEF software to detect, track, and engage aerial targets. AI-powered algorithms provide 360-degree coverage.
The system is designed to protect military facilities and critical infrastructure. In its mobile configuration, the equipment is deployed on two off-road vehicles.
According to the manufacturer's specifications, the interception range exceeds 1 km for Class 1 UAVs and 7 km for Class 2–3 UAVs.
However, the publicly confirmed demonstration of an interception does not yet establish the system's effectiveness against mass attacks or all types of attack drones.
