S&P 500 NEARS RECORDS DESPITE BROAD MARKET WEAKNESS
Since the S&P 500’s last all-time closing high in mid-August, only two of its 11 sectors — tech and energy — have gained ground.
Yet Nvidia, Apple and Microsoft are now so large they can pull the entire index higher on their own, pushing the S&P 500 back near record highs despite broad weakness underneath.
Real estate has been the worst-performing sector, pressured by surging interest rates.
