FED’S COOK: INFLATION HAS BEEN TOO HIGH FOR TOO LONG

Fed Governor Lisa Cook says she remains committed to bringing inflation back to target while preserving labor-market strength.

Cook did not comment directly on today’s softer inflation data or the October rate decision.

Her remarks come as markets increasingly expect the Fed to skip an October hike following softer PCE inflation.
