⚡️ The 70th session of the IAEA General Conference has concluded

⏰ This year’s session lasted approximately 20 hours less than last year’s, when delegations concluded their work in the early hours of Saturday morning

❗️Unfortunately, the optimization of working time this year did not help achieve the desired outcome: none of the five traditional General Conference resolutions was agreed upon

✍️ These resolutions set out specific areas and priorities for the IAEA Secretariat’s activities, including the promotion of the peaceful uses of nuclear energy, the safeguards system, nuclear safety and security, technical cooperation, as well as the implementation of relevant programmes and initiatives

🤝 Their adoption in previous years enabled Member States to consolidate common approaches and provide the necessary guidance for the Secretariat’s subsequent work

🇷🇺 From Russian side, we hope that delegations will draw the necessary conclusions and work together to rectify this regrettable situation
