оказывается, между продажей его стартапа Viaweb и основанием YCombinator прошло 7 лет – я раньше думал он сходу от одного успеха к другому перепрыгнул

"I had not originally intended YC to be a full-time job. I was going to do three things: hack, write essays, and work on YC. As YC grew, and I grew more excited about it, it started to take up a lot more than a third of my attention. But for the first few years I was still able to work on other things."
суммарная рыночная капитализация YCombinator-backed компаний больше 300 миллиардов, а он, отдохнув первые 7 лет, следующие несколько лет работал парт-тайм 😁

При этом и до, и после YCombinator он довольно регулярно пытался бросить все это программирование и стать художником 🤷
